Spring retreat 2008

As our usual spring retreat conflicts with the International FWBO Retreat, we decided not to have a retreat at Buckden Towers but to get a group of us to go to the International FWBO Retreat.

What is the FWBO International Retreat?
FWBO Buddhist Centres from across Europe are joining forces this year in this new venture. Whilst in previous years we have celebrated the FWBO in the UK with a day festival, in 2008 we are doing something different — the FWBO International Retreat. This will be a large gathering of people from all over the FWBO, coming together to practice and celebrate the Dharma over a long bank holiday weekend in May. There will also be facilities for children and families, and special facilities for those travelling from beyond the UK. The event is sure to be an inspiration for someone on his or her first retreat. Likewise, for those who’ve already been on many retreats, this will be a great opportunity to experience the magic of practising together in large numbers and to experience the greater FWBO Sangha.

The Letchworth group is quite an outstanding outreach group, and worth being well represented at this event as well as being able to gain from a wider contact with the movement.

We will co-ordinate transport to go to Taraloka, so if you're intending to go get in touch with Jayamuni who will organise it.

For those who aren't able to go so far and for so long, and still want to go on retreat, there will be a weekend retreat at Vajrasana (suffolk) organised by the Cambridge Buddhist Centre June 27th-29th. Jayamuni and Rob intend to take part in this retreat too, and maybe even lead it...
